Description

Overview

The Telecoms Quantity Surveyor is responsible for the commercial and contractual management of telecoms projects across the Wireless division. The role manages project costs, budgets, forecasts, variations, supplier accounts and financial reporting from project award through to final account. Working closely with Delivery, Finance, clients and supply chain partners, the Quantity Surveyor protects commercial performance, supports timely billing and ensures accurate, high-quality project controls and reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the commercial and contractual requirements of Wireless projects from award through to final account.
  • Prepare and maintain project budgets, cost plans, forecasts, cash-flow projections and margin reports.
  • Monitor committed costs, purchase orders, accruals, work in progress, billing, revenue and project profitability.
  • Identify, price, submit and track variations, change requests and other commercial entitlements within contractual timescales.
  • Review supplier and subcontractor quotations, applications, invoices and final accounts, confirming value and contractual compliance.
  • Provide accurate commercial reporting, risk and opportunity updates, and recommendations to Delivery, Finance and senior stakeholders.
  • Support tender pricing, cost benchmarking, supplier evaluation and commercial reviews for new and existing opportunities.
  • Maintain complete commercial records, including purchase orders, approvals, cost evidence, correspondence and audit trails.
  • Work with Finance and Delivery teams to improve forecast accuracy, invoicing, cash recovery and closure of aged work in progress.
  • Maintain strong commercial relationships with clients, suppliers, subcontractors and internal stakeholders while protecting Connect44 interests.

Skills & Experience

  • Proven Quantity Surveying or commercial management experience within telecoms, utilities, infrastructure or construction, ideally within Wireless.
  • Strong understanding of cost control, forecasting, valuations, variations, payment processes and final account management.
  • Good knowledge of contracts, framework agreements, purchase orders and subcontractor commercial administration.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel capability with confidence using commercial, financial and project reporting tools.
  • Excellent attention to detail, numerical accuracy, organisation, time management and the ability to manage multiple projects.
  • Effective communicator and negotiator with a proactive approach to risk management, problem-solving and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Experience supporting MBNL, 3UK, EE or comparable mobile network, TowerCo or telecoms infrastructure programmes is desirable.

Qualifications

  • Degree or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, Construction Management or a related discipline preferred.
  • RICS, CIOB, ICES or equivalent professional membership, or progress towards professional accreditation, is beneficial.
