Telephone Business Development Manager

Key Accountabilities
- Create, manage, and develop relationships through proactive telephone contact with allocated intermediaries to drive new mortgage business.
- Work collaboratively with BDMs to achieve product targets; promote West One products to new and lapsed businesses and deliver key account management.
- Build introducer relationships to deliver agreed new business targets.
- Support BDMs with full case management for broker partners — including outbound sales, inbound enquiries, chasing terms and deals, meeting booking, and proactive account targeting.
- Identify suitable firms to partner with alongside regional BDMs.
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date records within CRM and reporting systems, capturing all discussions and activity.
- Contact potential new brokers to introduce and build business.
- Keep intermediaries updated on new products, features, and service developments to maintain front-of-mind awareness.
- Respond to introducer enquiries and handle incoming new business opportunities.
- Complete and pass required internal competency tests following induction.
- Meet agreed SLAs through effective multitasking and time management.

Skills & Competencies
- Confident to pursue leads and constructively overcome objections.
- Excellent call handling, active listening, and influencing skills.
- Ability to analyse and present complex information clearly, relevantly, and engagingly.
- Strong written and verbal communication.
- Proactive — able to work on own initiative, independently, and as part of a wider team.
- PC literate — proficient in Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

- Previous experience in a sales-focused role is highly desirable.
