Telephone Service Operative

We are looking for a hardworking, self-motivated individual to join our Delivery team as a Telephone Service Operative based out of our Dartford depot. This is a hands-on role supporting our NWP (New World Payphone) products, with responsibility for keeping equipment and services operating to the required standards and timescales.

You’ll be responsible for your own dedicated round, covering a range of locations across Westminster and the surrounding areas. No two days will be the same, with work taking place across busy high streets, residential areas and rural locations. This is a physically demanding, outdoor role, and you’ll be comfortable working independently, with your company van as your base.

Your day-to-day work will include repairing, testing, cleaning and installing telephone lines and payphone equipment, fault-finding and diagnostics, replacing components, carrying out site inspections, and installing or removing equipment. You’ll also use handheld technology to record completed work, maintain the repair facility at the branch, and follow company health and safety procedures and instructions. Full training and ongoing support will be provided to help you get started in the role.

What will you be doing?

  • Repairing, testing, and cleaning telephone lines
  • Using handheld technology to record work
  • Troubleshooting and diagnostics to determine the problem and provide a solution within a timely manner.
  • Fault-find and repairing/replacing component level parts on Payphone equipment, both on-site and in the repair facility at the Branch depot.
  • Conducting pre-installation site inspections
  • Installation and/or removal of equipment
  • Responsible for the NWP repair facility at the Branch Depot, including tidiness and storage of equipment and stock.
  • Implementing and maintaining the Company’s Health & Safety Policy at all times
  • Implementing written and verbal instructions for the programming of NWP advertising equipment, both on-site and in the repair facility at the Branch depot.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
