We're looking for a driven Telesales Consultant to join our team in Basildon at LOCALiQ, part of Newsquest Media Group. You'll be representing some of the region's most trusted local news brands while helping businesses grow through a range of innovative digital and print advertising solutions.
This is a consultative, telephone-based sales role where you'll be speaking directly with business owners and decision-makers across the region. You'll take the time to understand their goals, identify opportunities, and recommend tailored advertising solutions that deliver real results. Every conversation is an opportunity to build relationships, solve business challenges, and make a genuine impact.

To be considered for this role, you must be based within commuting distance of our Basildon office and available to work Monday to Friday during standard office hours.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and win new business through proactive outbound calling and prospecting activities.
- Build and maintain a strong sales pipeline, effectively managing opportunities from initial contact through to close.
- Develop a thorough understanding of each client's business objectives and recommend appropriate advertising solutions.
- Achieve and exceed monthly revenue targets, KPIs and activity metrics.
- Manage and grow existing client accounts, identifying opportunities to increase client spend and maximise retention.
- Build long-term relationships with business owners and key decision-makers through regular communication and excellent service.
- Present LOCALiQ's portfolio of digital marketing and print advertising solutions in a clear and compelling manner.
- Handle objections confidently and negotiate effectively to secure new business opportunities.
- Work closely with internal teams to ensure a seamless onboarding process and successful campaign delivery.
- Maintain accurate records of activity, opportunities and pipeline progression within CRM systems.
- Stay informed on market trends, competitor activity and developments within LOCALiQ's product portfolio.
- Represent LOCALiQ and our trusted regional news brands with professionalism, credibility and enthusiasm.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with the confidence to engage business owners and decision-makers over the phone.
- Experience in outbound sales, telesales, lead generation or customer-facing roles would be advantageous.
- Confident making high volumes of outbound calls and generating opportunities through proactive prospecting.
- Ability to identify customer needs and provide consultative, solution-led recommendations.
- A resilient and target-driven mindset with a passion for achieving and exceeding goals.
- Strong objection-handling, negotiation and closing skills.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple opportunities and priorities effectively.
- A commitment to delivering outstanding customer service and building long-term client relationships.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced sales environment with measurable targets and KPIs.
- Previous B2B sales experience is advantageous but not essential.
- An understanding of digital marketing, media sales, advertising, SEO, PPC, websites or social media advertising would be beneficial but full training will be provided.
- Competent IT skills and confidence using CRM systems, Microsoft Office and digital communication tools.
- A positive attitude, strong work ethic and genuine desire to learn and develop within a successful sales career.
- Ability to commute to our Basildon office on a daily basis.
