The Role
We’re looking for a friendly and customer-focused Telesales / Counter Sales colleague to join the team at The Landscape Centre. You’ll help customers find the right landscaping products for their projects, whether they contact us by phone or visit the sales counter.
Working as part of a busy team, you’ll provide knowledgeable advice, process sales accurately and help deliver a positive customer experience from enquiry through to order fulfilment.
Your Responsibilities
- Responding to customer enquiries by telephone, email and in person at the counter
- Understanding customer needs and recommending suitable landscaping products and solutions
- Preparing accurate quotations, sales orders and invoices
- Processing customer orders and payments, maintaining accurate records
- Building and maintaining positive relationships with trade and retail customers
- Following up on customer enquiries and quotations to support sales
- Checking product availability, pricing and delivery requirements
- Working with colleagues to coordinate orders, deliveries and customer collections
- Identifying opportunities to promote relevant products and services
- Handling customer queries and resolving issues promptly and professionally
- Following company procedures, including health and safety and customer service standards

What We’re Looking For
We’re looking for someone who is approachable, commercially aware and confident communicating with a wide range of customers. You’ll enjoy helping people, be comfortable handling sales enquiries and take pride in providing excellent service.
You’ll need:
- Previous experience in telesales, counter sales, trade sales, retail sales, customer service or a similar role
- Experience in landscaping, building materials, builders merchants, garden supplies or a related sector is essential
- An interest in landscaping products and a willingness to develop your product knowledge
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, particularly over the telephone
- A confident, helpful and professional approach to customer service
- Good numeracy and attention to detail when preparing quotes and processing orders
- The ability to build customer relationships and recognise sales opportunities
- Good computer skills and the ability to learn sales and product systems
- A positive, reliable and hardworking approach
- The ability to work effectively as part of a busy team
- A commitment to health and safety and high standards of customer service

Working Hours, Salary & Benefits
- ⏰ Working hours are Monday - Friday 07.30 - 17.00 plus 1 in 2 Saturday mornings 08.00 - 12.00.
- 💎 Competitive salary dependent on experience (£31,000 - £36,000)
