Join LOCALiQ, part of Newsquest Media Group, and play a key role in supporting local businesses through the power of trusted media brands like the Echo.
This is a fast-paced, telephone-based sales role where you will speak directly with business owners across the region. You will take a consultative approach, understanding each client’s goals and recommending tailored advertising solutions across our digital and print portfolio.
Whether you are an experienced sales professional or looking to build a career in sales, LOCALiQ offers full training, ongoing support and a collaborative office environment where success is recognised and rewarded.
This role is fully office-based in Basildon, working Monday to Friday during standard office hours.
Key Responsibilities
- Generate new business through proactive outbound calling and sales activity
- Build and manage a strong pipeline of prospective clients
- Achieve and exceed revenue targets and KPIs
- Manage and grow existing accounts, identifying upsell opportunities
- Deliver a consultative sales approach, tailoring solutions to client needs
- Build long-term relationships with local businesses
- Work closely with internal teams to ensure smooth campaign delivery
- Stay up to date with market trends and LOCALiQ’s product offering
- Represent the Echo and LOCALiQ brand in a professional and credible manner

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- Confident communicator with strong influencing skills
- Comfortable with outbound calling and building relationships over the phone
- Ability to win new business and close sales
- Target-driven with a motivated and resilient mindset
- Strong customer service and account management approach
- Consultative selling style with the ability to understand client needs
- Previous B2B sales experience is advantageous but not essential
- Interest in or understanding of digital and print advertising is beneficial
- Able to commute to Basildon and work in an office-based environment
