We have a rewarding opportunity for a Temporary Accommodation Officer to join our team in Shaftesbury.

This is a full-time permanent role working in our temporary homeless accommodation schemes principally based at our 6 bedroom Temporary Accommodation project in Shaftesbury.

You'll need to be able to work on site every day to provide support for our residents.

The role:

Our Temporary Accommodation Officers provide an enhanced, proactive housing management service for customers in our temporary homeless accommodation.

As a Temporary Accommodation Officer you'll help our residents overcome barriers and prepare for more secure accommodation. This may include assistance with income and benefits, personal housing plans, rent accounts and resolving tenancy issues and other barriers to seeking permanent accommodation.

You'll also be responsible for carrying out regular scheme inspections and undertaking health and safety tests.

What we're looking for

  • Experience of working in a similar role. This could be a supported housing, social housing, homelessness services or a care setting.
  • A good knowledge of tenancy management would be preferred but not essential at appointment, resident support and safeguarding
  • Strong customer service skills with the ability to build trust and rapport
  • A knowledge of welfare benefits and financial inclusion support
  • The ability to work collaboratively with our partner organisation and external agencies
  • The ability to work as part of a wider housing team whilst also operating independently.
  • You'll need a full UK driver's license and your own transport.
