Haley Sharpe manages projects from concept to completion through both design consultancy and design/build contracts, supported by a trusted network of specialist consultants. Role Description
We're looking for an experienced and organised Accounts Assistant to join our Finance team on a 12-month fixed-term contract to provide maternity cover.
The successful candidate will support the day-to-day financial operations of the business, ensuring financial records are maintained accurately and deadlines are consistently met.

This role is ideal for someone with previous experience in an Accounts Assistant position who is confident using financial systems, has strong Excel skills, and can quickly become an integral part of a busy finance team.
Key Responsibilities
- Process purchase and sales invoices accurately and in a timely manner.
- Process company credit card and employee expense claims.
- Assist with bank and account reconciliations.
- Support accounts payable and accounts receivable functions.
- Process payment runs and allocate customer receipts.
- Assist with month-end procedures and reporting.
- Maintain accurate financial records and filing systems.
- Resolve invoice and payment queries with suppliers and customers.
- Support the Management Accountant and Finance Director with ad hoc finance and administrative tasks.
- Manage the Accounts inbox.
- Ensure compliance with company financial policies and procedures.
- Process purchase orders.
- Enter payments into the banking system for supplier payments.
Essential Requirements

- Previous experience in an Accounts Assistant or similar finance role.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
- Experience using Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central.
- Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Experience working with multiple currencies.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Desirable
- AAT qualification (or currently studying towards AAT).
- Experience working within a busy finance department.
- Knowledge of month-end accounting processes.
