We are looking for warm, friendly and customer-focused Temporary Retail Sales Assistants to join our department store team during the exciting Christmas trading period.

Christmas is one of the most magical and important times of the year for our customers. From finding the perfect gift to discovering something special for themselves, our shop floor colleagues are at the heart of creating a memorable experience.

You will be a welcoming and knowledgeable presence on the shop floor, helping customers discover our ranges, and ensuring every customer receives the high level of service they expect from a Jarrolds.

What You will Be Doing

  • Welcoming every customer warmly and creating a friendly, engaging and memorable experience.
  • Taking the time to understand customers’ needs and helping them find the right products.
  • Providing knowledgeable, attentive and personalised service across your department.
  • Maintaining standards across the shop floor.
  • Keeping your department clean, organised and ready for customers throughout the day.
  • Supporting seasonal campaigns, Christmas events and promotional activity.
  • Helping customers with product information, gifting ideas and general enquiries.
  • Working closely with colleagues across the store to deliver a seamless customer experience.
  • Remaining calm, positive and professional during busy Christmas trading periods.
  • Following health & safety, security and company procedures.
  • Going the extra mile to create a special and memorable Christmas experience for our customers.

  • Previous retail or customer service experience is advantageous, but it is not essential.
  • Naturally warm, welcoming and passionate about delivering exceptional customer service.
  • Confident and comfortable engaging with a wide range of customers.
  • Polished, professional and attentive to detail.
  • Positive, enthusiastic and genuinely enjoy helping people.
  • Passionate about products, presentation and creating a beautiful shopping environment.
  • Reliable, punctual and hardworking.
  • Calm and composed in a fast-paced and busy environment.
  • Great communicators and team players who enjoy working collaboratively.
  • Flexible and available to work throughout the lead up to Christmas.
