Temporary Credit Controller
Location: Wythenshawe, Manchester
Salary: Up to £30,000 equivalent
Contract: Temporary

The Opportunity
An established manufacturing business based in Wythenshawe is seeking an experienced Credit Controller to join their finance team on a temporary basis with an immediate start available. This is a fast-paced role with a strong focus on query management, requiring someone who can build relationships with customers, investigate issues efficiently, and ensure outstanding debts are collected in a timely manner. You'll be working closely with the sales, customer service, and finance teams to resolve disputes and reduce aged debt.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a designated ledger of customer accounts.
- Proactively collect outstanding debt via telephone and email.
- Take ownership of customer queries and disputes from initial investigation through to resolution.
- Liaise with internal departments, including Sales, Customer Service, and Logistics to resolve invoice and delivery-related queries.
- Monitor aged debt and produce regular reports for management.
- Maintain accurate customer records and detailed collection notes.
- Reconcile customer accounts and allocate incoming payments.
- Review credit limits and escalate potential risks where necessary.
- Support month-end reporting and cash collection forecasting.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers to ensure prompt payment and effective dispute resolution.

About You
- Previous experience in a Credit Control role.
- Strong query management and problem-solving skills.
- Comfortable handling a high volume of customer contact.
- Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
- Experience working within a manufacturing, distribution, or product-based environment would be advantageous.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Intermediate Excel skills and experience using finance systems.
- Available to start immediately or at short notice.
