TITLE: Temporary Learning Support Assistant – Level 2

GRADE: Grade B – £19,607 per annum after adjustment for part time hours and weeks

ALLOWANCE: Special Needs Allowance £1198p.a. (actual amount)

LOCATION: Phoenix, Clarkes Lane, West Bromwich, West Midlands, B71 2BX

HOURS: 31.25 hours per week, Term Time + 5 INSET Days

CONTRACT: Maternity Leave cover until July 2027

We are looking for a Learning Support Assistant to join our team of dedicated, hard-working colleagues, who contribute to an established culture of supporting students with additional needs.

Some of the duties and responsibilities are:

  • Provide classroom support for students with speech, language, and communication, social, and emotional difficulties through:
    • Supporting individual and group work to raise core skills, supporting Personalised Learning Plans, and helping students access the national curriculum
    • Assisting students to access the school curriculum and in the use of resources - including IT
    • General support to students in line with Education, Health, and Care Plans or planned provision
    • Assisting in the assessment of students' attainment and with the recording and monitoring of students’ progress
    • Assisting with the supervision of students on school trips/visits

You will have attained GCSE grade 4 or above (or an equivalent qualification) and ideally, will have experience of working with children or young people in an education setting.
