Position Description
The Department of Plant and Environmental Sciences (PES) at Clemson University invites applications for a Lecturer position to begin August 2026. This is a part-time, non-tenure-track appointment focused on undergraduate instruction in experiential learning, curriculum innovation, and student success. The successful candidate will join a dynamic team of educators dedicated to excellence in teaching, student engagement, and experiential learning in horticulture while advancing Clemson Elevate’s strategic pillar of delivering the No. 1 student experience. This position is integral to the majors the department serves, helping prepare graduates to address emerging challenges in sustainable horticulture, environmental stewardship, and the green industry.

Responsibilities
- Provide high-impact undergraduate instruction in four courses: Sustainable landscapes, Greenhouse Production, Hydroponics, and Capstone.
- Develop and deliver engaging, student-centered courses that use evidence-based, active-learning strategies that incorporate field and lab-based experiences and real-world problem-solving.

Qualifications
- Required: Master’s degree in Horticulture or a closely related field.
Rank and Salary
This is a temporary, non-tenure-track position at the Lecturer rank. Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience, and a competitive benefits package is included.
