We are working with a leading international law firm that is looking to appoint an experienced Temporary Receptionist to join its London office for an initial eight-week assignment.
This is a highly client-facing position within a busy and professional reception team. The successful candidate will act as one of the first points of contact for clients, visiting lawyers, and internal colleagues and will therefore need to demonstrate a polished, confident, and welcoming approach at all times.
The firm is looking for someone who is highly organised, calm under pressure, and able to manage multiple priorities while delivering an excellent level of client service.
Responsibilities
- Greeting clients, visitors, and visiting lawyers and notifying internal hosts of their arrival
- Escorting visiting lawyers to allocated offices
- Issuing, tracking, and logging temporary security passes
- Managing meeting room bookings and coordinating meeting requirements
- Liaising closely with Catering, Conference Room Assistants, IT, Facilities, and Building Security
- Coordinating visitor registrations
- Managing security pass requests, replacements, and lost or defective passes
- Coordinating deliveries and loading-bay requirements
- Reporting building faults and maintenance issues to the relevant Facilities teams
- Providing general administrative support to the wider reception function
- Managing a shared reception inbox
- Maintaining accurate records and trackers

The role will involve daily use of a number of internal systems, including Outlook, meeting-room booking software, visitor management systems, and Excel.
Previous experience with Libris, Yardi Bluepoint, Datascope, or similar systems would be useful but is not essential where candidates have strong transferable experience.
The successful candidate will ideally have previous reception or front-of-house experience within a:
- Law firm
- Professional services organisation
- Financial services business
- Corporate head office
- Other high-end client-facing environment

This is a fully office-based position working five days per week in the firm's central London office. Hours are 9:30am to 5:30pm. The assignment will initially run for eight weeks, and the firm would like the successful candidate to begin as soon as possible.
