IMPORTANT: DO NOT USE CHATGPT OR ANY OTHER AI GENERATED ANSWERS WHEN FILLING IN THIS JOB APPLICATION
We want your own personal answers, and we want to get to know you. We genuinely focus on the person behind the application, and using AI generated answers gets in the way of this. If we suspect any answers to be AI generated, this may have a negative impact on your application.
Who We Are
You might know us as the inventors of the bath bomb, but there’s more to this great-smelling, partly employee-owned, family-run company than pioneering cosmetics. We believe our business should put more back into the world than it takes and demonstrate that capitalism can be a force for good.
The Living Wage Foundation’s statement 'a hard day's work deserves a fair day's pay' is one that we are proud to commit to in the UK. As an accredited Living Wage employer, we put our people first and fight cruel practices like animal testing, promote regeneration, and show that it is what’s inside that counts - whether that’s an ingredient in a product, or the minerals in a smartphone.
The Role
In this role, you’ll be the face of the store, welcoming customers and providing a fun, engaging shopping experience. You’ll use your product knowledge to offer personalised recommendations, perform pampering and engaging product demonstrations, and hand out tailored samples. Working closely with your team, you’ll help drive sales, exceed targets, and create memorable in-store events that keep customers coming back.
With flexible shifts, a competitive hourly rate based on the Living Wage, and opportunities for bonuses, you’ll be well-supported through training and development to grow your skills.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

The Recruitment Process
- Application deadline: 28th August 2026

Next Stage: In-person Group Interview
What to expect: The group interviews will take place on the shop floor either during quiet open hours or after hours and last 1-1.5 hours. During the interview, there will be a number of activities based around getting to know you a little more and getting hands on with product demonstrations. More information will be provided in interview invites, but the activities will include pampering demonstrations such as cleansing and applying face masks on faces (other attendees or staff). Don't worry if you haven't done it before, we will give you the info you need.
Final Stage: Shop Floor Trial
What to expect: The shop floor trials last around 1-1.5 hours. We invite you to join us as a member of staff on shop floor and put into practise product demonstrations you picked up during your interview as well as others we will show you on the day. As Christmas is our busiest time of year, we're looking for team mates who are happy to hit the ground running, get stuck in on the shop floor and have fun with our products and our customers, getting the products onto customers' skin.
Accessibility
Lush Preston has step-free access from the street directly onto the shop floor. The main staff room, stock room and toilet are accessed via 2 flights of stairs only. There is a toilet available to use in Starbucks, 2 units away. For any individual accessibility questions please email the shop directly- preston@lush.co.uk
Important Information
As explained above, a key part of the role is demonstrating products on customers' skin including hands, arms, faces and head/scalp. We will need members of staff who are confident to do this (with training provided of course). We understand that there may be factors such as religion/culture which may influence which customers you are comfortable to demonstrate on. We are able to accommodate this, we just ask that you let us know ahead of time by emailing preston@lush.co.uk so we can discuss this directly with you.

Skills and Experience
- A 'people person': For us, this isn't just jargon- we really mean it! Our customers are at the heart of what we do, and demonstrating our beautiful products is our favourite way to do it. In this role, engaging visitors with product demonstrations will be key and the best way to learn is to get stuck in. We are looking for people who are excited to create these wonderful experiences for all our guests.
- Customer Experience: Embrace a true passion for delivering exceptional customer service, inspiring your team to radiate positivity and create memorable 5-star experiences.
