Job Summary

The role is a temporary position and requires a proactive and level-headed individual able to present themselves in a polite and professional manner. As a Security Officer, you'll ensure the safety of visitors, staff, buildings, and assets, whilst providing excellent customer service.

The role includes:

  • Greeting visitors and ensuring they adhere to the required security protocols
  • Conducting searches where required
  • Patrolling the premises and dealing with security incidents

Candidates must be able to demonstrate flexibility regarding both the duration of the assignment and the shift pattern. Shifts may operate on a rotational basis, such as 3 days, 3 nights followed by 3 days off; however, this is an example only and is not guaranteed.

The rate of pay is £14.00 per hour.

  • Conduct regular mobile / foot patrols of designated areas, ensuring security presence is visible and effective both Internally and Externally.
  • Prevent and manage access points to prevent unauthorized entry.
  • Respond to alarms and dispatched calls; assess the situation and employ tactics to resolve security issues.
  • Maintain logs and reports of occurrences during shifts and communicate any irregularities to management.
  • Enforce property rules and regulations as outlined by management.
  • Coordinate with local law enforcement and emergency responders when necessary.
  • Ensure all safety protocols are adhered to while on patrol or stationed at doors.
  • Operate and maintain security equipment and vehicles in a safe, functional manner.
  • Handle conflict situations calmly and professionally, de-escalating when possible.
  • Provide customer service and assistance to employees, guests, and visitors.
  • Monitoring of CCTV within the control room, review footage of Incident and provide advice and guidance where necessary.
  • Carry out locks and unlocks at various properties around the site.
  • Deal with any car parking issues on site.
  • Permit Checks of Contractors in line with Client Requirements.
  • Supporting Supervisor with Campus engagement.
