Temporary Works Advisor
We're looking for a Temporary Works Advisor to join our team based in various locations. Kier Design are a highly regarded Tier 1 Contractor, with a 750 plus strong design consultancy team, recognised as a Top 30 employer on Glassdoor. Become part of one of the UK's leaders in temporary works design and management and construction-related technical services. As part of our team of temporary works advisors, you'll get to work on hundreds of projects across one of the most diverse and high-profile portfolios in the country, with access to Kier's £11bn+ project pipeline – supporting complex construction and major infrastructure schemes from concept through to delivery.

Birmingham / Bristol / Cambridge / Cardiff / Glasgow / Leeds / Liverpool / London / Manchester / Newcastle / Norwich / Plymouth – agile working
Hours
40 hours per week - some flexibility on hours available if desired, just let us know when you speak to us.

Are you…
- A holder of IEng Initial Professional Development (or CEng equivalent progress) with a relevant professional institution (e.g. ICE) and relevant experience, or Level 6 or Level 7 qualification and relevant experience, or significant experience
- Collaborative and able to build effective relationships across teams, clients and stakeholders
- Trusted in delivering what you promise whilst acting safely and ethically
- Focused and clear in your approach, disciplined and thorough in how you work

What will you be responsible for?
As a Temporary Works Advisor, you'll be working within the team, supporting them in delivering complex construction engineering services and providing safe, buildable solutions. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the delivery of complex construction engineering services, providing solutions that are safe and buildable. You'll play a key role in advising on the effective implementation of temporary works standards, offering technical expertise and practical advice across a variety of projects. Working collaboratively with teams and clients, you'll help shape innovative solutions whilst supporting tender processes, technical assessments, and the resolution of design and construction challenges.
Your Day To Day Will Include
- Advising on the effective implementation of the Group Temporary Works Standard and associated guidance
- Providing technical and practical advice on specific areas of temporary works design and implementation
- Supporting tender and bid processes including outline design schemes, feasibility studies, and innovative concepts
- Undertaking technical assessment and review of third party designs to ensure compliance with requirements
- Resolving technical project, construction and design issues, incidents, defects and failures
