We're looking for a Temporary Works Advisor to join our team based at Birmingham / Bristol / Cambridge / Cardiff / Glasgow / Leeds / Liverpool / London / Manchester / Newcastle / Norwich and Plymouth.

Location: Birmingham / Bristol / Cambridge / Cardiff / Glasgow / Leeds / Liverpool / London / Manchester / Newcastle / Norwich / Plymouth – agile working

Hours: 40 hours per week - some flexibility on hours available if desired, just let us know when you speak to us.

What will you be responsible for?

As a Temporary Works Advisor, you'll be working within the Construction Engineering team, supporting them in delivering complex construction engineering services, you'll play a vital role in delivering safe and buildable construction engineering solutions across a broad range of complex projects. You'll provide expert guidance on temporary works implementation, support tender and bid processes, and act as a trusted technical resource for our teams. This is an opportunity to make a real impact by combining your technical expertise with collaborative problem-solving to enhance Kier's reputation for engineering excellence.

Your Day To Day Will Include

  • Advising on the effective implementation of the Group Temporary Works Standard and providing technical guidance on design and implementation
  • Supporting tender and bid processes through outline design schemes, feasibility studies, and innovative solutions focused on buildability and efficiency
  • Conducting technical assessments and reviews of third-party designs to ensure compliance with client and Kier requirements
  • Providing expert technical support through our help desk service, acting as a centre of engineering excellence
  • Undertaking site visits, surveys and inspections, and attending meetings on behalf of Kier with internal and external stakeholders

What are we looking for?

This role of Temporary Works Advisor is great for you if:

  • You have completed IEng Initial Professional Development (or CEng equivalent progress) with a relevant professional institution such as ICE, with sound experience
  • You hold a Level 6 or Level 7 qualification with relevant experience, or have significant relevant experience in temporary works or construction engineering
  • You're collaborative by nature and enjoy working closely with clients, teams and stakeholders to reach innovative solutions
  • You're trusted to deliver what you promise, acting safely and ethically while caring about the environment and communities we work in
  • You're focused and disciplined in your approach, being thorough in how you work and deliver for clients and customers
