Empower Advisory UK (a part of the BMD Group based in Australia) is a project management and advisory business that makes large, complex projects simple. Our team is composed entirely of people who have made a career in delivering large, complex projects both here in UK and in Australia and who know how to make projects deliver ahead of time and budget and generate exceptional outcomes.

BMD Group is Australia's leading integrated engineering, construction, and urban development business. We are dedicated to powering futures and creating legacies through a commitment to collaboration. Our team is built on the principles of collaboration and sustainability, ensuring the highest standards are met for every project and client.

We are seeking a proactive and site-based Temporary Works Coordinator (TWC) to join the Minor Civil Frameworks (MCF) team at Hinkley Point C (HPC). Operating within a highly regulated nuclear environment, your primary objective is to manage the lifecycle of temporary structures (including scaffolding, deep and medium excavations, shoring systems, formwork, foundations, and edge protection) ensuring total safety, commercial efficiency, and legal compliance.

We want a decisive coordinator who acts as the primary engineering link between our design house and front-line delivery teams. You must be comfortable enforcing strict procedural controls, managing multi-tier design approvals (CAT 0-3), and exercising absolute stop-work authority when necessary.

Responsibilities

Planning & Design Coordination

  • Design Briefs: Prepare detailed briefs capturing site-specific constraints.
  • Competency Checks: Ensure designs are created by qualified engineers.
  • Design Verification: Check and approve all calculations and design packages before execution.
  • Interface Management: Coordinate temporary structures with permanent building designs.
  • Primary Contact: Act as the first point of contact between designers and site teams.
  • Value Engineering: Develop collaborative solutions with the TWD to mitigate or eliminate risks.
  • Risk Mitigation: Work with the TWD during drafting to address early risks.
  • Report Submissions: Compile and submit Temporary Works reports internally (CAT 0/1) or to the client (CAT 2/3) for formal review

Risk & Safety Management

  • RAMS Review: Review Risk Assessment Method Statements and communicate residual risks to site teams.
  • Authority to Stop: Halt any onsite operations if temporary structures appear unsafe.
  • Compliance Checks: Ensure operations adhere to the Health and Safety at Work Act.
  • Procedural Enforcement: Guarantee all site procedures and safety protocols are strictly followed.
  • TWS Briefing: Provide Temporary Works Supervisors (TWS) with full design details for clarity.
  • Maintenance & Inspections: Enforce routine maintenance and mandatory inspection regimens during use.
  • Permit to Load: Inspect installations and issue permits to load once verified satisfactory.
  • Permit to Strike: Issue permits to strike only after confirming concrete strength or EV2 test records.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
