Job Title: Tenancy and Rehousing Officer

Location: Newham

Rate: £20.38

Term: Temp 3 months initially

5 days in the office

Our client is seeking a dedicated and customer-focused Tenancy and Rehousing Officer to support the management of council housing tenancies. This exciting role is perfect for individuals passionate about making a positive impact in the community and ensuring residents receive top-notch service throughout their housing journey.

Key Responsibilities

  • Tenancy Sign-Ups and Lettings: Arrange and complete tenancy sign-up appointments, explaining agreements, rights, and responsibilities.
  • Tenancy Terminations: Manage termination cases, process notices, and liaise with tenants to recover properties efficiently.
  • Decants and Rehousing Projects: Assist residents during decant projects and provide guidance throughout the rehousing process.
  • Customer Service: Respond to resident inquiries and resolve issues professionally, ensuring high resident satisfaction.
  • Administration and Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records and monitor case progress using housing management systems.
  • Partnership Working: Collaborate with various internal teams and external agencies to enhance service delivery.

Person Specification

  • Knowledge: Understanding of housing services, tenancy management, and relevant legislation.
  • Experience: Background in Housing and customer-focused roles, with experience managing caseloads and working with diverse communities.
  • Skills: Excellent communication, strong organisational abilities, and proficiency in IT applications, including Microsoft Office.

Ideal candidates should have experience in housing and be customer-oriented, approachable, and ready to embrace a role that promotes equality and inclusion.
