Come and make a difference at 54 North Homes as a Tenancy Sustainment Officer

We're looking for a passionate and skilled individual to join us as a Tenancy Sustainment Officer in our Customer Experience Team. This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a team that's making a real difference in people's lives.

Our joining of forces with Karbon Homes affords us the opportunity for further development, ensuring we continue to make a positive contribution to the communities in which we work.

About The Role

The Tenancy Sustainment Officer role involves providing housing-related support to a portfolio of customers, living either in their own homes or within supported schemes run by 54North homes. You'll provide support and advice to tenants, through intensive housing management for residents to sustain their tenancy and live independently. Working with 54N customers and those of other landlords, this unique role provides an opportunity to be highly engaged, building relationships with customers, colleagues, and stakeholders.

You'll assist new tenants, particularly vulnerable tenants, to set up and maintain a tenancy and engaging with existing support providers to ensure appropriate support packages are in place. The role is to ensure tenants understand and adhere to tenancy agreements and supporting them to deal with problems relating to tenancy, including repairs, rent arrears, property condition, and Anti-Social Behaviour (ASB).

You'll work in partnership with the resident and other agencies as appropriate, prepare action plans to achieve agreed outcomes, and undertake regular support sessions appropriate to the identified level of need, maintaining accurate records of assistance given, those involved, and outcomes reached. Acting as the tenant's advocate, liaise with other housing, health, welfare professionals, and other statutory and voluntary agencies, to access specialist support as appropriate.

About You

We're looking for someone who is passionate about making a difference and supporting our customers to live well in the community. At 54North Homes, our behaviours are what we expect everyone to role model in their day-to-day work.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
