About The Role
Do you have experience in compiling tenders and bids and are ready for your next career step in a growing business? We currently have an exciting position for a Tender and Bid Manager to join Sunbelt Rentals Ltd to work in the tender and bid submission team.
Based from our Birchwood Park Support Office on a hybrid basis, the team is responsible for creating business winning documentation to an exceptionally high standard. Each of our divisions continue to grow strongly and deliver outstanding service and support to some of the UK's largest contractors and clients in our key markets of Construction, Infrastructure, Industrial and Events.
Role Responsibilities
- Manage assigned bids, PQQs, ITTs, frameworks, mini competitions and proposals through the full bid lifecycle.
- Review tender documents, identify requirements, deadlines, risks, evaluation criteria, submission rules and approval needs.
- Create and manage bid plans covering actions, owners, timescales, dependencies, reviews and escalations.
- Coordinate input from Sales, Marketing, Operations, Legal, SHEQ, ESG / Social Value, Finance and other support teams.
- Engage Sales early to understand customer strategy, opportunity background, win themes and commercial priorities.
- Gather operational, delivery, mobilisation, depot coverage and service capability information for responses.
- Identify contractual, commercial, operational or reputational risks and escalate them to the right stakeholders.
- Draft, edit and refine responses so they are accurate, compelling, compliant, customer-focused and commercially aligned.
- Translate specialist input into clear, professional written English that reflects Sunbelt’s capability and value proposition.
- Challenge unclear, incomplete or low-quality input to ensure responses answer the customer question.
- Manage compliance, including attachments, declarations, certificates, formatting, portals and submission instructions.
- Lead internal reviews, capture feedback, complete actions and secure final approvals before submission.
- Manage clarification questions, customer portal activity and post-submission queries in line with procurement rules.
- Support award, contract signing and mobilisation handover by clearly communicating commitments, assumptions and key information.
- Maintain accurate records including versions, clarifications, approvals, feedback and outcomes.
- Support content libraries, templates, case studies and lessons learned to improve future submissions.

About You
The successful applicant will be able to write effective, concise and compelling content while under pressure sometimes associated with tight deadlines.
We are looking for strong commercial candidates who respond well in a profit driven organisation, this will require excellent numerical skills along with the ability to project manage and engage with key stakeholders at all levels.
The essential requirements and personal behaviours you will have include:
Essential
- Excellent written English and ability to produce clear, structured, professional responses.
- Strong comprehension skills to interpret customer questions, tender documents and detailed instructions.
- Excellent organisation, time management and prioritisation skills across multiple deadlines.
- Strong stakeholder management skills, including confidence to ask questions, chase input and influence others.
- Ability to work under pressure while remaining calm, accurate and focused.
- High attention to detail when checking responses, documents, compliance and submission requirements.
- Team-focused, proactive and resilient approach with willingness to support colleagues and learn quickly.
- Confident using Microsoft Office, Teams and SharePoint.
- Comfortable using approved AI tools responsibly to support drafting, summarising, review and efficiency.
- Ability to handle confidential and commercially sensitive information appropriately.

Desirable
- Experience in bids, tenders, proposals, sales support, commercial administration, project coordination, customer service, procurement, account management or operations.
- Experience in deadline-driven roles and coordinating information from multiple teams.
- Experience writing professional documents, reports, customer responses or internal communications.
- Industry experience in hire, construction, infrastructure, facilities management, utilities, public sector or similar sectors.
- Understanding of public sector tenders, procurement portals, PQQs, ITTs, frameworks or mini competitions.
- Experience using content libraries, templates, SharePoint, document management systems or AI tools for productivity and document review.
