Tender & Business Development Executive
Location: Warrenpoint
Salary: £30,000 - £35,000 per annum (dependent on experience), plus commission on non-tender sales and performance-related bonus
Hours: 37.5 hours per week (9:00am to 5:00pm)
Duration: Permanent, subject to successful completion of a six-month probationary period
About Clonallon Laboratories
Clonallon Laboratories is a leading manufacturer of customised sterile surgical and medical procedure packs, supplying healthcare providers throughout the UK, Ireland and international markets.
Established in 2002, we specialise in the design, manufacture and supply of high-quality procedure packs and also provide contract manufacturing and consultancy services to the Healthcare and Medical Device sectors.
Due to continued growth, we are seeking an ambitious and commercially focused Business Development & Tender Executive to join our team in Warrenpoint.
The Role
This is a varied and rewarding commercial role that combines business development, tender management and customer support activities.
The successful candidate will play a key role in identifying and securing new business opportunities, managing public and private sector tender submissions, developing customer relationships and supporting sales growth across domestic and international markets.
Working closely with senior management, the successful candidate will help drive the continued growth of Clonallon Laboratories by identifying opportunities, converting enquiries into sales and ensuring tender submissions are completed to the highest possible standard.
This position would suit either an experienced commercial professional or an ambitious graduate looking to build a long-term career within business development, sales and tender management. Full training will be provided for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities across public and private sector markets.
- Monitor procurement portals and tender platforms for relevant opportunities.
- Prepare, coordinate and submit high-quality tender responses, quotations and supporting documentation.
- Liaise with internal departments to gather technical, operational and pricing information required for tender submissions.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective customers.
- Manage customer enquiries and prepare quotations for non-tender business opportunities.
- Support the growth of export and international sales activities.
- Follow up quotations and sales opportunities to maximise conversion rates.
- Maintain accurate records of tenders, quotations, opportunities and customer interactions.
- Analyse tender outcomes and identify opportunities to improve future submissions and success rates.
- Undertake market research and competitor analysis to identify emerging trends and opportunities.
- Produce regular reports for management on tender activity, sales opportunities and business performance.
- Represent the company at customer meetings, exhibitions and industry events as required.
- Support wider sales, marketing and business development initiatives across the business.

Essential Criteria
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent IT skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Professional and confident manner when dealing with customers and colleagues.
- Full driving licence.
Desirable Criteria
- Previous experience in business development, sales, tendering, procurement, customer service or a commercial role.
- Experience preparing quotations, proposals or tender submissions.
- Knowledge of public sector procurement processes.
- Experience using eTendersNI, eTenders Ireland, Contracts Finder or similar procurement portals.
- Experience working within healthcare, medical devices, manufacturing or a regulated industry.
- Experience supporting export or international sales activities.
- Degree qualification in Business, Marketing, Economics, Science or a related discipline.
