Job Description

This is a pivotal senior role within the Commercial Team, offering the opportunity to shape and drive bid strategy, influence business growth, and develop the next generation of commercial talent through functional leadership, coaching, and quality oversight. The role is a cross-business role, responsible for leading and enhancing the company's tendering and commercial governance processes, ensuring the successful delivery of high-quality, commercially robust proposals while effectively managing risk and compliance throughout the process.

Working at the center of the business, the Tender Manager is accountable for leading the development and delivery of high-quality, commercially robust, and customer-focused tender submissions for both the Subsea Robotics and Offshore Projects Group opportunities, across the Eastern Hemisphere. Beyond the delivery of individual tenders, this role plays a critical part in strengthening commercial capability across the organization through mentoring, coaching, and developing team members, driving continuous improvement, and embedding best practice.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and lead complex tenders in support of Subsea Robotics (SSR) and Offshore Project Groups (OPG).
  • Lead the development, structure, and population of bid pricing models and cost estimates, ensuring alignment with approved commercial assumptions, project execution strategies, and client requirements.
  • Act as the commercial integration between internal SMEs, including Projects, Finance, Tax, Treasury, Legal, Compliance, and Executive Leadership Team stakeholders, ensuring bid strategies, commercial positions, risk assessments, and governance requirements are aligned throughout the opportunity lifecycle.
  • Ensure bid calculations accurately reflect scope assumptions, operational constraints, contractual obligations, tax considerations, and commercial risks.
  • Facilitate formal peer reviews of pricing models, cost build-ups, and commercial assumptions to ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance with company procedures.
  • Support the development and continuous improvement of bid calculation tools, cost models, estimating templates, and pricing methodologies across the business.
  • Lead Bid / No-Bid evaluations ensuring alignment with business objectives, risk appetite, and resource availability.
  • Ensure compliance with the Commercial Work Instruction.
  • Facilitate and document bid governance reviews, including risk management, deviation reviews, approval records, and lessons learned.
  • Lead commercial risk and opportunity workshops and maintain bid risk registers in accordance with company risk management processes.
  • Ensure risk mitigations, ownership, and commercial provisions are incorporated into pricing strategies and proposal submissions.
  • Lead tender kick-off meetings, establish tender execution plans, deliverables matrices, and submission schedules.
  • Coordinate cross-functional workstreams to ensure timely delivery of compliant and commercially robust submissions.
  • Monitor progress against bid milestones and escalate issues requiring management intervention.
  • Lead tender debrief reviews and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance win rates, commercial governance, and proposal quality.
  • Review, update, and improve standard tender templates, commercial tools, and governance processes as required.
  • Conduct quality reviews of tender deliverables and promote commercial best practice across the business.
  • Other tasks as may be delegated.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
