Tendering Engineer Data Centre & Cooling Solutions

Location: Leeds (Hybrid working)
Salary: £60k-£65k + 10% annual bonus

We're recruiting on behalf of a global leader in energy management & automation for a Tendering Engineer to join their UK Solutions Centre, supporting the delivery of complex data centre infrastructure projects.

This is an excellent opportunity for an electrically biased engineer with experience in technical tendering, applications engineering, electrical design, or project engineering who is looking to work on some of the UK's most advanced data centre developments.

You'll be responsible for producing high-quality technical & commercial proposals for integrated electrical infrastructure solutions, working closely with sales, engineering, manufacturing, procurement & commercial teams to deliver competitive, compliant bids.

Projects range from enterprise facilities through to hyperscale data centres, supporting customers from initial enquiry through to project award.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare technical & commercial tenders for data centre infrastructure projects.
  • Review customer specifications, drawings & technical documentation.
  • Develop compliant electrical solutions aligned with customer requirements.
  • Produce cost estimates, quotations, technical submissions & bid documentation.
  • Liaise with internal engineering, procurement, legal & finance teams throughout the tender process.
  • Coordinate with global product specialists & manufacturing facilities where required.
  • Support value engineering initiatives to improve commercial competitiveness.
  • Ensure proposals comply with internal governance, customer requirements & industry standards.
  • Provide technical support to the sales team during customer engagement.

Experience Required

  • Experience within Tendering, Applications Engineering, Electrical Design, Proposals, or Estimating.
  • Electrical engineering background (degree, HNC/HND, apprenticeship, or equivalent experience).
  • Ability to interpret electrical drawings, specifications & single line diagrams.
  • Experience producing technical quotations or commercial proposals.
  • Strong communication & stakeholder management skills.
  • Commercial awareness with excellent attention to detail.
  • Experience within power distribution, switchgear, UPS, critical power, building services, or data centres would be advantageous.
  • Data centres or critical infrastructure, or MV/HV power distribution equipment experience.
