Tender Manager - Highly Regulated Environment
Salary to £80k (doe) plus car allowance
Are you an experienced Tender or Bid Manager looking for a role where you can genuinely influence strategy, shape major bids and help secure high-value business?
We’re looking for an experienced Tender Manager to take the lead on the internal bid process, from initial tender receipt through to submission, client feedback and lessons learned. This is a key role within the Sales function, working closely with teams across the business, subsidiaries and the wider supply chain to develop compelling, high-quality bids.
The Role
You’ll take ownership of the bid process, developing the overall strategy, building the story and bringing together the right people and expertise to deliver winning submissions.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading Pre-Qualification and Bid Management activities and ensuring high-quality submissions.
- Developing bid programmes, schedules and clear requirements for each tender.
- Creating and implementing effective bid collaboration models across internal teams and external partners.
- Identifying, briefing and coordinating contributors, SMEs, subsidiaries and supply-chain partners.
- Overseeing the bid writing process and ensuring responses are strategically aligned to maximise scoring.
- Leading win strategy sessions, storyboarding, answer planning and bid reviews.
- Facilitating client interview and presentation rehearsals.
- Supporting partnering and business development discussions.
- Ensuring bids progress through the required governance processes.
- Maintaining accurate CRM information and supporting the wider business development process.
- Leading lessons-learned activities and helping drive continuous improvement.
- Supporting and developing more junior colleagues and helping build a strong bid-winning culture.

You’ll need to be comfortable operating autonomously, solving problems creatively and bringing people together around a clear strategy.
What We're Looking For
We’re looking for a proven bid professional who combines strong project management and commercial awareness with excellent stakeholder management skills.
Essential:
- Strong track record in Bid / Tender Project Management.
- Commercial understanding and experience.
- 10+ years' experience within the nuclear sector or another highly regulated industry.
- Degree or equivalent qualification.
- Experience using CRM systems such as Salesforce.
- Excellent communication, presentation and analytical skills.
- Strategic understanding and the ability to see the bigger business picture.
- Understanding of business development processes.

Desirable:
- Technical or engineering background.
- Experience of the nuclear decommissioning lifecycle.
- Knowledge of marketing.
- Understanding of the relevant service offering.
