How you’ll power our business as a Terminal Manager
Are you an experienced operations leader with a strong background in terminal, depot, fuels, logistics or industrial operations? Do you thrive in highly regulated environments where safety, operational excellence and customer service are critical?
We have an exciting opportunity for a Terminal Manager to lead the safe, efficient and compliant operation of our terminal facilities. In this role, you'll be responsible for managing all operational activities, ensuring compliance with safety and environmental legislation, maintaining customer service standards, controlling costs and developing high-performing teams.
At Certas Energy, we're the UK's largest independent distributor of fuel and lubricants, serving homes, businesses and industries through a nationwide network of depots and delivery operations.
What you’ll be doing
- Leading the safe and efficient operation of terminal facilities while maintaining full regulatory compliance.
- Managing operational budgets, including Capex, Revex, maintenance and operating expenditure.
- Monitoring financial performance, forecasting business requirements and identifying opportunities to improve profitability.
- Building effective relationships with key customers and ensuring agreed service levels are consistently achieved.
- Supporting commercial growth by identifying business development opportunities.
- Taking responsibility for Major Accident Prevention Policy (MAPP) implementation and Safety Management System compliance.
- Ensuring all terminal activities meet or exceed legal, environmental and health & safety requirements.
- Managing audits, risk assessments, incident investigations and corrective action programmes.
- Driving continuous improvement through performance monitoring, KPI analysis and operational efficiency initiatives.
- Leading, coaching and developing terminal teams.
- Managing recruitment, succession planning, employee development and workforce planning activities.

What we’ll need from you
- Significant operational leadership experience within a terminal, depot, logistics, fuel distribution, industrial or heavily regulated environment.
- Strong financial management, budgeting and cost control experience.
- Excellent understanding of operational compliance, health & safety and environmental legislation.
- Strong customer relationship management and commercial awareness.
- Proven ability to lead, coach and develop teams.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Strong communication, influencing and stakeholder management skills.
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office and operational systems.

Desirable
- Experience within fuel distribution, storage terminals or the wider energy sector.
- Knowledge of CODAS and industry-specific operational systems.
- Experience managing major hazard sites and safety management systems.
