Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

The Opportunity:

We are looking for a reliable and hands-on Terminal Operator to join our growing team. This is a varied role working across our two sites, supporting day-to-day operations, operating mobile plant and machinery, carrying out basic plant checks and maintenance, and assisting with dispatch activities.

We’re not looking for someone with experience on one specific type of machine. General experience working with plant, machinery, loading shovels, forklifts or similar equipment is valuable, and training can be provided for the right person.

The role will involve working across two separate operations, with responsibilities including:

  • Operating mobile plant and machinery safely and efficiently, including loading shovels and forklifts.
  • Moving pallets, bulk bags and other materials around the site.
  • Carrying out daily machine and plant checks and reporting any issues.
  • Undertaking basic maintenance and housekeeping duties within your level of training and authorisation.
  • Supporting loading, unloading and general site operations.
  • Assisting with dispatch activities, including preparing and issuing dispatch information.
  • Carrying out basic computer and system-based tasks, including E1 system work and Excel.
  • Supporting the wider team and moving between different operational areas as required.
  • Following all health, safety, quality and environmental procedures at all times.

We’re looking for someone who is:

  • Comfortable working as part of a team.
  • Able to work safely and follow site procedures.
  • Comfortable using computers and willing to learn new systems.
  • Ideally experienced in operating plant, machinery, forklifts, loading shovels or similar equipment.
  • Familiar with working in an industrial, manufacturing, logistics, quarry, terminal or similar environment where health and safety is important.
  • Willing to learn and develop their skills across different areas of the operation.
  • Able to support and train others as the team grows.

A forklift or other plant experience would be advantageous, but relevant experience and the right attitude are equally important, and training can be provided where required.

40 hours per week

  • Standard hours: 8:00am – 4:00pm
  • As part of the shipping operation, there may occasionally be a requirement to work different shifts, including 12-hour shifts, approximately every couple of months.

We are committed to building a diverse environment and are proud to be an equal opportunity employer. You will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, religion, gender, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, national origin, disability or age.
