Territory Account Manager

Field Based – Seaford

£45,000 + uncapped commission + company car/car allowance & benefits

Are you an ambitious PPE or Health & Safety sales professional with a proven track record of growing customer accounts and winning new business? Elevation Recruitment are excited to be working with a leading integrated health and safety experts, who are seeking a commercially driven Territory Account Manager to join their team, covering the South Coast.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced sales professional to take ownership of a well-established territory, developing an existing portfolio of approximately 100–120 customers while actively identifying and winning new business.

The territory covers the South Coast from Portsmouth across to Rye and up to Crawley, with the role being predominantly focused on the South Coast and not extending into London. Ideally, you will be based within the territory, with easy access to the customer base.

As a Territory Account Manager, you will be responsible for driving profitable, sustainable growth, increasing share of wallet within existing accounts and winning new customers from competitors. You will have the freedom and accountability to manage your territory as your own business, developing relationships at multiple levels and delivering tailored solutions across the full range of products and services.

You will also work closely with a dedicated Business Development Manager covering the wider region, while retaining responsibility for identifying and developing your own new business opportunities.

Responsibilities of a Territory Account Manager:

  • Driving profitable and sustainable revenue growth across your territory.
  • Managing and developing a portfolio of approximately 100–120 active customer accounts, ranging from around £10k to £300k annual spend.
  • Increasing share of wallet within existing customers through increased product and category penetration.
  • Selling the full range of PPE, Health & Safety products and services into your customer base.
  • Building strong, long-term relationships with key decision makers and stakeholders across procurement, operations and HSE.
  • Identifying new contacts and opportunities within existing customer organisations.
  • Proactively targeting new accounts and winning competitor-held business.
  • Working alongside the regional Business Development Manager while also generating your own new business opportunities.
  • Building and maintaining a strong, sustainable sales pipeline.
  • Taking ownership of your territory strategy and managing it as if you were running your own business.
  • Using a value-based sales approach, focusing on long-term customer value rather than transactional volume.
  • Protecting margin through effective pricing strategies, including Own Brand and PROS pricing.
  • Balancing commercial performance with excellent customer service.
  • Maintaining accurate CRM records and ensuring strong CRM discipline.
  • Delivering accurate sales forecasting and taking accountability for your pipeline and performance.
  • Travel throughout your territory, with the role being field based and remote working.

Requirements of a Territory Account Manager:

  • Proven experience within PPE, Health & Safety, Industrial, Workplace Safety or a closely related sales environment is essential.
  • A strong track record of delivering profitable growth through both account management and new business development.
  • Experience managing and growing a portfolio of B2B customers.
  • A genuine growth mindset, with the drive to increase existing customer spend and win new accounts.
  • Strong commercial awareness with a focus on profitable, sustainable growth rather than transactional sales.
  • An excellent relationship builder who is confident engaging with stakeholders at multiple levels, including procurement, operations and HSE.
  • A proactive and resilient approach, with the determination to identify opportunities and drive deals through to completion.
  • Highly accountable, with the ability to manage your own territory, pipeline, forecasting and performance.
  • Strong negotiation, communication and influencing skills.
  • A competitive and target-driven approach, with the ambition to consistently exceed expectations.
  • Strong organisational skills and excellent CRM discipline.
  • Knowledge of Health & Safety products, services and markets.
  • A full UK driving licence is essential.
  • Ideally based within the territory or to the west of the territory, with good access to Portsmouth, the South Coast, Rye and Crawley.
