Help Scientists Work Smarter Through Automation

As laboratories continue to adopt automation to increase efficiency, reproducibility and throughput, we're looking for an ambitious Territory Manager, Automation to drive growth across the Cambridge, Oxford and Bristol scientific corridor.

The Opportunity

As our Territory Manager, you'll be responsible for developing and growing the automation business across your territory. You'll work closely with research institutions, biotech companies, pharmaceutical organisations and laboratory leaders to understand their challenges and introduce automation solutions that deliver measurable value.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and manage a strong sales pipeline from prospecting through to installation and training.
  • Identify, develop and close new business opportunities across life science markets.
  • Conduct customer meetings, demonstrations and solution-focused discussions.
  • Present automation solutions that improve laboratory workflows and productivity.
  • Maintain accurate forecasts, opportunities and customer records within Salesforce.
  • Collaborate with marketing, applications, service and channel partners to support customer success.
  • Represent Gilson at scientific conferences, industry events and customer meetings.
  • Achieve and exceed territory sales targets through effective pipeline management and value selling.

About You

We're looking for someone who combines scientific understanding with commercial drive. You may be:

  • An experienced life sciences sales professional looking to specialise in laboratory automation.
  • A capital equipment sales expert with a passion for scientific research.
  • A scientist or laboratory professional who has successfully transitioned into a commercial role.

Essential Experience

  • Minimum three years' experience selling capital equipment or technical laboratory solutions.
  • A proven track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets.
  • Strong prospecting and new business development skills.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and relationship-building capability.
  • Experience working within life sciences, biotechnology, diagnostics or scientific research environments.
  • A self-motivated, results-driven approach with the ability to work independently.

Desirable Experience

  • Laboratory automation experience.
  • Hands-on laboratory or research experience.
  • Experience selling solutions using ROI and value-based methodologies.
  • Familiarity with laboratory instrumentation and automation platforms.
