Join Abbott’s Structural Heart team and help bring life-changing technologies to patients of all ages with serious heart conditions.
We are hiring for a Territory Manager to cover the areas of Cambridge, Leicester, Wolverhampton, Nottingham, Birmingham, and Coventry.
Region of responsibility: Midlands
You need to be based within that region to be considered for the role.
In this territory-focused sales role, you will grow market share, build trusted relationships with healthcare professionals, and champion innovative therapies that can improve outcomes for patients of all ages.
You will be the primary sales lead for your territory, combining strategic account management, clinical and technical knowledge, and a consultative approach to deliver sustainable revenue growth across the UK business.
What You’ll Do
- Develop and execute territory and account plans that increase revenue, expand market penetration, and strengthen Abbott’s position with key customers.
- Build influential relationships with clinicians, procurement teams, commercial leaders, and other decision makers across assigned accounts.
- Provide credible technical and therapy support, helping healthcare professionals understand the clinical value and appropriate use of Abbott technologies.
- Use market insight, account intelligence, and analytical sales tools to identify opportunities, manage risks, and prioritise activity effectively.
- Represent Abbott with professionalism, integrity, and customer focus, ensuring every interaction strengthens confidence in the Abbott brand.
Key Responsibilities
- Territory and account strategy: Understand local healthcare dynamics, competitor activity, reimbursement considerations, Trust structures, procurement processes, and customer priorities to create targeted account plans.
- Sales execution: Apply consultative selling, SWOT analysis, SMART objectives, segmentation plans, discovery planning, and weekly call planning to build a strong pipeline and achieve territory sales targets.
- Customer engagement: Identify decision-making networks, access key influencers, manage KOL relationships, and present compelling value propositions tailored to clinical, commercial, and patient needs.
- Clinical and product expertise: Maintain strong knowledge of Abbott therapies, products, clinical practice, evidence-based medicine, regulatory standards, quality requirements, and business policies.
- Technical support: Provide practical and theoretical support to healthcare professionals and Abbott colleagues, responding confidently to customer-specific questions and requests.
- Market insight: Capture and share account intelligence, customer feedback, competitive insights, and emerging business development opportunities with the wider sales and marketing teams.
- Performance and reporting: Maintain accurate territory records, forecasts, reports, and account documentation to support business planning and performance management.
- Collaboration and development: Work closely with Sales Managers, marketing colleagues, educators, functional specialists, and the wider country sales team while actively seeking coaching and ongoing learning.
- Compliance and professionalism: Operate ethically and in line with Abbott policies, the Abbott Code of Business Conduct, customer requirements, and relevant legal, regulatory, and quality standards.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
