Territory Sales Manager – Field Based – Nottingham/Sheffield/Derby/Lincoln

Full Time | Permanent

About the Role

As a Territory Sales Manager, you will develop and drive the business strategy for the PPG Trade Direct segment, aiming to stimulate improved sales, margin, and market share performance.

  • Operating in key areas: Nottingham, Sheffield, Derby, Lincoln
  • Responsible for circa £6MM sales portfolio via the PPG Total Coating Solutions offering.
  • Reporting to the Regional Sales Manager, with accountability for sales, margin, and budget delivery.

Your primary focus will be on driving growth, enhancing customer experience, and increasing market share while adhering to the PPG Way to Lead.


Key Responsibilities

Sales & Revenue Growth

  • Create and implement a territory strategy for Trade Direct Sales growth.
  • Develop and execute a growth plan to achieve sales, margin, and market share objectives.
  • Promote PPG’s product portfolio and promotional activity to new and existing customers, aligned with company pricing architecture.

Customer & Relationship Management

  • Maintain strong stakeholder relationships (internal and external).
  • Act as a brand ambassador at company and corporate events.
  • Ensure exceptional customer experience and timely resolution of complaints.
  • Ensure credit terms compliance to maintain business liquidity.
  • Optimise journey planning to maximize productivity and service levels.

Sales Methodology & Reporting

  • Adhere to and execute PPG’s preferred sales methodology, including selling machine principles, processes, and KPIs.
  • Utilise Clientlink and digital platforms to track customer interactions and performance.
  • Provide accurate sales forecasting for both current and new products.
  • Keep updated customer records in compliance with company guidelines.

Candidate Profile

Essential Qualifications

  • Full valid UK driving licence with willingness to travel across the UK.
  • Proven track record in professional selling environments.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Highly PC literate and numerate, with outstanding attention to detail.

  • Commercial acumen with proven ability to manage and exceed sales/margin targets.
  • Personable, articulate, and an exceptional interpersonal communicator.
