Territory Sales Manager

Location: Abingdon

Salary: £50,000 - £55,000 + Bonus + Company Car

We're looking for an ambitious and commercially minded Territory Sales Manager to join our successful Aggregates, Asphalt and Recycling business covering the Abingdon area. This is a varied and rewarding role where you'll manage key customer relationships, develop new business opportunities and drive profitable growth across a diverse product portfolio.

You'll have the autonomy to shape your territory, build strong partnerships with customers and work alongside operational and technical teams to deliver industry-leading service. The Role

As Territory Sales Manager, you will be responsible for managing a portfolio of customers and prospects across your territory. Acting as the primary point of contact, you will build strong commercial relationships, identify growth opportunities, and deliver tailored solutions from across the Heidelberg Materials product portfolio.

Working closely with operational, logistics, customer service and technical teams, you'll ensure customers receive a seamless experience while supporting the continued growth of the business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and develop long-term relationships with existing customers and new prospects.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all assigned accounts within your territory.
  • Implement a territory sales strategy focused on increasing market share, volume, revenue and profitability.
  • Deliver structured customer engagement through face-to-face meetings, telephone calls and digital channels.
  • Identify opportunities to cross-sell and upsell products and services across the Heidelberg Materials portfolio.
  • Support the preparation of quotations, tenders and commercial proposals.
  • Contribute to sales budgets, forecasts and territory planning activities.
  • Develop and maintain Customer Management Plans (CMPs) aligned with Market Strategy Plans (MSPs).
  • Monitor account performance, forecast sales activity and track achievement against objectives.
  • Work collaboratively with internal stakeholders to deliver excellent customer service and resolve customer issues effectively.
  • Coordinate activity across multiple product lines to ensure a consistent customer experience.

You will ideally have:

  • Proven experience in field sales, account management or business development.
  • Experience within aggregates, asphalt, recycling construction materials, building products or a related industry.
  • Strong commercial awareness and negotiation skills.
  • The ability to identify and develop new business opportunities.
  • Excellent relationship-building and communication skills.
  • Strong organisational and territory planning abilities.
  • A proactive and results-oriented approach.
  • A full UK driving licence.
