Territory Manager – Automation

We are looking for a Territory Manager – Automation to develop sales of laboratory automation solutions across an assigned UK territory.

This is a field-based commercial position requiring a strong hunter mentality, technical credibility, and the ability to manage longer, consultative sales cycles with laboratories and Life Sciences customers.

The Role

As Territory Manager, you will take ownership of sales development within your territory, identifying new opportunities while developing relationships with existing customers.

You will manage the complete sales cycle — from prospecting and lead generation through needs analysis, solution development, commercial negotiation, closing, and ultimately installation.

This is not an account-management-only position. Success requires someone comfortable proactively creating opportunities and building a strong pipeline.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop sales of laboratory automation and capital-equipment solutions across your assigned territory.
  • Proactively identify and engage new customers and business opportunities.
  • Build relationships with key stakeholders within Life Sciences organizations and laboratories.
  • Understand customer workflows, applications, and technical requirements.
  • Translate customer needs into appropriate automation solutions.
  • Manage the complete sales process from initial prospecting through quotation, negotiation, closing, and installation.
  • Develop and maintain a strong, qualified sales pipeline.
  • Manage opportunities, activities, and forecasts accurately using Salesforce (SFDC).
  • Prepare commercial proposals and negotiate contracts and commercial terms.
  • Coordinate internally with technical, application, and service teams throughout the sales process.
  • Maintain relationships after the sale to identify additional opportunities and support long-term account development.
  • Regularly visit customers throughout the territory.
  • Provide reliable sales forecasts and market feedback.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
