The Opportunity
We are seeking a commercially driven Territory Sales Manager to take ownership of the London and South East territory, developing independent retail relationships and growing sales across Ashley Wilde’s blinds and curtain collections.
The role combines approximately 50% new business development and 50% account management initially, evolving towards 30% new business and 70% account management as the territory develops.
You will work with independent blind and curtain retailers, interior specialists, soft furnishing businesses, furniture retailers, design-led showrooms and other specialist trade customers. The role offers significant autonomy to win new business, develop existing accounts and shape the region’s performance.
What You'll Do
Develop the Territory
- Take responsibility for sales performance across London and the South East.
- Create and deliver a structured territory plan.
- Identify, secure and develop new independent retail accounts.
- Build and convert a strong sales pipeline.
- Develop opportunities in underrepresented areas and win business from competing suppliers.
- Grow revenue from new and existing customers using sound commercial judgement.
Develop Existing Accounts
- Build long-term relationships with independent retail customers.
- Understand each customer’s business, objectives, product mix and growth potential.
- Create development plans for key and high-potential accounts.
- Increase sales through improved product penetration, range expansion and new collection placements.
- Help retailers improve product presentation, customer conversion and average order value.
- Reactivate dormant accounts and develop underperforming customers.
- Act as a trusted commercial partner.
Represent and Develop the Brand
- Represent Ashley Wilde and its associated blinds and curtain collections professionally.
- Present new products and collections to customers.
- Support retailers with product knowledge, samples, displays and sales development.
- Promote the commercial opportunity across the full product range.
- Provide feedback on customer needs, competitor activity, pricing and market trends.
- Support successful collection launches and placements.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

How Success Will Be Measured
Performance will be measured against agreed KPIs, including territory revenue and year-on-year growth, new business revenue and accounts opened, growth and retention of existing accounts, product and collection penetration, pipeline development and conversion, forecast accuracy and CRM standards, and achievement of sales and margin objectives.
Success will be measured by profitable, sustainable territory growth — not activity alone.
Autonomy and Commercial Responsibility
You will operate as the commercial owner of your territory, prioritising customers, prospects and geographical opportunities according to their potential.
Your decisions will be guided by company policies covering pricing, margins, credit, trading terms, brand strategy, CRM, reporting, territory plans, budgets and national sales priorities.
You will be expected to understand your market, make sound commercial decisions and take accountability for delivering your plan.
Working With Internal Sales
You will work closely with an Internal Sales Executive who provides consistent customer contact, data insight and follow-up between your visits — helping ensure opportunities are identified quickly and no commercially valuable opportunity is missed. While you own the territory’s face-to-face relationships and overall performance, Internal Sales support gives you more time to focus on winning business and developing accounts, rather than administrative follow-up.
