Role Description

The Territory Sales Representative is a full-time, on-site role based in Mansfield Woodhouse, focused on developing and managing relationships with trade customers across an assigned territory. Daily responsibilities include:

The role involves working closely with the local depot team to ensure product availability, coordinate deliveries, and provide high-quality service and support to builders. The Territory Sales Representative will:

  • Identify new business opportunities
  • Follow up on leads
  • Conduct product demonstrations
  • Contribute to local marketing initiatives

This position also requires accurate reporting of sales activities, maintaining customer records, and consistently representing the Howdens brand and values in the local community.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in field sales, account management, or business development, ideally within trade, construction, or related industries.
  • Strong customer relationship-building skills, with the ability to understand trade customer needs and provide tailored solutions.
  • Effective communication, negotiation, and presentation skills, both in-person and over the phone.
  • Ability to plan territories, manage time efficiently, and work independently while collaborating with depot teams.
  • Comfort with basic IT systems and CRM tools for managing customer information and reporting activity.
  • A valid UK driving license and willingness to travel within the designated territory.
  • Knowledge of kitchens, joinery, or building products is advantageous but not essential; willingness to learn product ranges is important.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, target-driven environment while maintaining a high level of service and professionalism.
  • Demonstrated commitment to health and safety standards and ethical business practices.
  • Relevant education or vocational training in sales, business, or a related field is beneficial but not mandatory.
