Company Description
Cumbria Wildlife Trust is a conservation charity dedicated to protecting nature across Cumbria and restoring and connecting wild places. The Trust works with nature to help address the climate emergency and empowers people and communities to take local action for wildlife. Individuals support this mission through membership, donations, volunteering, campaigning, and legacy giving. Businesses and organisations contribute as corporate members, through sponsored Wild Workdays and Wild Wellbeing Days, and via donations and sponsorships. Joining the Trust means being part of a collaborative effort to safeguard wildlife and habitats for future generations.
Role Description
This full-time hybrid role is based in Kendal, with the flexibility to work from home for part of the week. The role involves supporting conservation and community engagement activities, contributing to projects that protect wildlife and habitats, and assisting with the coordination of local initiatives and events. - Liaising with volunteers and partners
- Gathering and organizing information for reports
- Helping to promote the Trust’s work through digital and offline channels
- Administrative tasks to ensure projects run smoothly
- Maintaining accurate records
- Supporting internal communication

The successful candidate will work closely with colleagues across the Trust to help deliver nature conservation and public engagement outcomes.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated interest in nature conservation, wildlife, or environmental issues, with motivation to support the mission of a conservation charity.
- Strong communication skills, including clear written and verbal communication, and the ability to engage sensitively with a wide range of people and communities.
- Organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and maintain accurate records.
- Experience using standard office software (e.g., word processing, spreadsheets, email, video conferencing) and confidence working in a hybrid environment.
- Ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team, while also working independently and taking initiative when needed.
- Experience in charities, community projects, environmental education, or public engagement is beneficial.
- Relevant education or training in conservation, environmental science, community development, or a related field is an advantage but not essential.
