Test Analyst (ETL & Data Warehouse Testing)

Location: Hybrid 2 days onsite Telford
Inside IR35 Rate: £420.00 pd
Clearance: BPSS - active SC or SC eligible

We're looking for an experienced Test Analyst to join a fast-paced Agile delivery team, supporting the testing of data-focused solutions across multiple projects. This role is ideal for someone with strong experience in ETL testing, data warehousing, and Oracle environments, who enjoys working closely with delivery teams and stakeholders to ensure high-quality outcomes.

You'll be responsible for defining test approaches, executing functional and integration testing, supporting end-to-end testing activities, and ensuring solutions meet business and technical requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Produce Test Approach and Test Completion reports.
  • Analyse business requirements, technical specifications, and solution designs.
  • Assess requirements for completeness, quality, and testability.
  • Identify test scenarios and create detailed test scripts and test plans.
  • Prepare and manage test data for execution activities.
  • Perform Functional System Testing (FST), Integration Testing, and support End-to-End (E2E) testing.
  • Verify results against expected outcomes and maintain audit-compliant test evidence.
  • Identify, manage, and communicate testing risks, defects, and issues.
  • Provide regular progress updates to Delivery Managers and stakeholders.
  • Collaborate closely with developers, business analysts, architects, and project teams within an Agile environment.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Strong experience testing ETL solutions, particularly using Talend.
  • Experience testing Oracle RDS environments.
  • Proven background in Functional System Testing and Integration Testing.
  • Experience preparing and creating complex test data.
  • Strong understanding of Risk-Based Testing (RBT) methodologies.
  • Experience testing Data Warehouses, Data Marts, and Data Migration solutions.
  • Familiarity with API testing tools such as Postman.
  • Experience working within Agile delivery environments.
  • Strong experience using:
    • JIRA
    • Confluence
    • Test management tools such as Zephyr
  • Ability to produce clear test documentation and reporting.
