Data Test Analyst
Location: Hybrid Telford 2 days on site per week
Clearance Required: Active SC Clearance required
Inside IR35: Umbrella Rate £420.00 pd
The Opportunity
We're looking for an experienced QA Engineer / Test Analyst to support a major data-focused project, delivering both manual and automated testing across the full software testing lifecycle.
Working within Agile delivery teams, you'll be responsible for defining test approaches, executing functional and integration testing, supporting end-to-end test activities, and ensuring high-quality delivery across complex data and migration projects.
This is a hands-on role requiring strong technical testing skills, a quality-first mindset, and the ability to work closely with development teams, stakeholders, and third-party suppliers.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and contribute to Test Approaches, test plans, and test deliverables.
- Create and maintain test coverage matrices.
- Analyse business requirements and technical specifications to identify test scenarios.
- Design, develop, and execute both manual and automated test scripts.
- Functional System Testing
- Integration Testing
- End-to-End Testing
- Prepare and manage test data for execution activities.
- Apply Risk-Based Testing (RBT) methodologies.
- Produce Test Completion Reports and quality metrics.
- Collaborate with delivery teams, stakeholders, and external suppliers.
- Provide regular test status updates, identifying risks, issues, and dependencies.
- Support defect management and resolution activities.

Essential Skills & Experience
- Active SC Clearance.
- ISTQB Foundation Certification.
- Strong experience in Functional System Testing and Integration Testing.
- Proven experience with Test Automation.
- Experience using test tools such as Postman.
- Strong understanding of Agile delivery methodologies.
- Experience testing: Data Warehouses
- Data Marts
- Data Migration solutions
- Strong SQL and database testing experience (Oracle or similar).
- AWS experience.
- Experience writing Test Approaches and Test Completion Reports.
- Experience with: JIRA
- Zephyr Scale or similar test management tools
- Git
- ETL testing experience.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
