Test Analyst
Contract Opportunity | £350-425 Outside IR35 | 6 Months | Start ASAP
We are supporting a large-scale technology transformation programme and are seeking an experienced Test Analyst to provide hands-on testing services across a portfolio of infrastructure, software and remediation projects. This role offers the opportunity to work within a complex technical environment, supporting both application and infrastructure change initiatives.
The Role
Working closely with the Test Manager and wider project teams, you will be responsible for delivering structured testing activities across multiple concurrent projects. The successful candidate will combine strong software testing capabilities with a solid understanding of infrastructure, networking and cloud technologies.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain and execute test plans, test scenarios and test cases.
- Perform functional, integration, system and exploratory testing.
- Manage defects through investigation, retesting and closure.
- Produce test completion reports and quality assurance documentation.
- Test software applications and SaaS platforms within cloud-hosted environments.
- Support user acceptance testing activities and regression testing cycles.
- Work closely with business users, project teams, business analysts and technical SMEs.
- Provide clear reporting on quality, testing progress, risks and release readiness.
- Contribute to testing activities across infrastructure, virtualisation and cloud-related projects.

Essential Skills & Experience
- Proven experience as a Test Analyst or Test Engineer within enterprise environments.
- Experience delivering testing across both software and infrastructure projects.
- Good understanding of virtualisation technologies and cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS or VMware.
- Knowledge of networking fundamentals including DNS, DHCP, IP addressing, routing, VLANs and firewalls.
- Experience testing physical, virtual, cloud or hybrid infrastructure environments.
- Exposure to container technologies such as Docker or Kubernetes.
- ISTQB or equivalent testing qualification.
- Strong defect management, reporting and stakeholder communication skills.

Desirable Experience
- Cloud migration, technology modernisation or remediation programmes.
- Infrastructure upgrade or legacy system migration projects.
- Test automation, scripting or CI/CD exposure.
- Experience working within highly regulated or security-conscious environments.
- Understanding of IT service management, change management or release management processes.
