Test Analyst/Senior Test Analyst - Finance Systems
We're looking for a Test Analyst/Senior Test Analyst to join our Finance Systems team on a 12 month fixed term contract, based from the NEXT Head Office in Leicestershire!
The Role
As a Test Analyst/Senior Test Analyst within our Finance Tech team, you will play a key role in supporting NEXT's growth across the UK and internationally. In a fast-paced environment driven by global payment trends, you will ensure our finance systems remain robust, accurate, and ready for new payment technologies.
Joining a dedicated team of six QA Testers, you will contribute directly to manual testing efforts and help drive the modernisations of our broader finance estate. From day one, you will work closely with experienced colleagues, developers, and key business stakeholders in a supportive, collaborative setting designed to help you settle in quickly and succeed.
What You’ll Take On
- Interpret functional specifications to design, develop, and execute detailed test plans, strategies, and test scripts.
- Collaborate with testers across various projects to identify efficient, high-coverage testing approaches.
- Embed within Agile development projects, participating in sprint reviews and building targeted test cases.
- Work closely with developers and business users throughout the testing lifecycle, providing clear progress updates, status reports, and early warnings on potential risks or critical issues.
- Maintain quality standards across manual testing procedures while supporting ongoing improvements in automated tools and techniques.

What You’ll Bring
- Proven background in manual testing across the complete software development lifecycle, including planning, scripting, execution, and defect analysis.
- Practical knowledge of Azure ADO and a clear understanding of automated testing tools and techniques.
- Familiarity with project lifecycles, testing methodologies, and general technical architecture.
- Outstanding attention to detail paired with a methodical, structured approach to problem-solving.
- Excellent communication skills, enabling you to build strong working relationships across multi-team departments and present updates clearly.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to take initiative, prioritise tasks under tight deadlines, and adapt smoothly during busy periods.
- A relevant qualification (such as ISTQB / ISEB) or familiarity with retail business processes and legacy systems (e.g., Mainframe, TFS, or Leapwork) would be an advantage, but is not essential.
