Test & Applications Engineer
Location: Essex, UK
Our client is a global specialist in components and subsystems for renewables, medical, scientific, aerospace and industrial markets, with technology in use across hospitals, aircraft, ships and space missions. Their Power division is now looking for a Test and Applications Engineer to join the Project Development team responsible for the next generation of high-power products.
This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys being on the bench: running test plans, chasing down faults, and helping customers get the best out of the product once it's in their hands.
What you'll be doing
- Developing and running test plans for high-power products, from prototype through to production
- Carrying out performance evaluation, troubleshooting and failure analysis
- Supporting customers directly on performance queries and integration challenges
- Working alongside design, manufacturing and quality teams to refine product performance
- Helping build out test procedures and automated test systems
- Writing test reports, application notes and technical documentation
- Contributing to a safety-first culture, including risk management on test activities

What we're looking for
- A degree in electrical or electronic engineering, or equivalent hands-on experience in a professional engineering development or production environment
- Solid working knowledge of RF testing, measurement and applications support
- Confidence with RF test equipment: spectrum analysers, network analysers, signal generators, and interpreting the results they give you
- Comfortable in a small team, happy to muck in and support colleagues
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Clear communicator, equally at home in a technical discussion or a customer conversation
- A proactive, detail-focused approach to the job
