Test Automation Engineer - Distributed Systems & Networking

£50,000 - £70,000 DOE + Benefits
Fully Remote (UK)

About the Company

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a pioneering technology business operating at the forefront of secure communications and connectivity.

Our client develops innovative software solutions for organisations operating within highly secure, mission-critical environments. Founded by recognised industry experts, they are building technology that challenges conventional approaches and delivers real-world impact.

With ambitious growth plans and a highly capable engineering team, this is an exciting time to join.

The Opportunity

We're looking for a Test Automation Engineer to help build and enhance automated testing capability across complex distributed systems.

This role goes far beyond writing automated tests. You'll develop frameworks, tooling and infrastructure that validate software operating across cloud services, networks, hardware and real-world environments.

Working closely with engineers, you'll help ensure systems are reliable, resilient, secure and ready for production.

About You

Essential Skills

  • Software engineering experience using Go, Rust or C, combined with Python or Shell scripting
  • Experience building automated test frameworks, harnesses and testing infrastructure
  • Understanding of distributed systems, asynchronous workflows and eventual consistency
  • Experience with Go Testing, Playwright, Jest or similar frameworks
  • CI/CD experience, ideally GitHub Actions
  • Docker and containerised test environments
  • Strong networking knowledge including TCP/IP, UDP, DNS, NAT, routing and tunnelling

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
