Role Overview

We're looking for an experienced Test Consultant to join Nest's Testing & Quality Assurance team on a 6-month fixed-term contract. Working across a range of business and technology change initiatives, you'll support the planning, coordination, and assurance of testing activities, working closely with suppliers, stakeholders, and subject matter experts to help ensure solutions meet Nest's quality expectations and business requirements. The role offers the opportunity to work within a complex delivery environment, providing testing expertise, oversight, and support throughout the project lifecycle.

The minimum criteria for this role are:

  • Extensive testing experience gained within large and complex IT delivery programmes.
  • Experience working within structured project delivery environments, including Agile methodologies.
  • Experience using test management tools to manage testing activities and produce test reporting and metrics.
  • Experience reviewing requirements, test coverage, and test evidence to identify risks, gaps, and quality concerns.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with experience working collaboratively across business teams, suppliers, and project stakeholders.

Directorate/Department Overview

The Testing and Quality Assurance Team (T&QA) plays an integral role in the development lifecycle of projects delivered by Nest.

The department is responsible for:

  • Ensuring solutions delivered by suppliers meet Nest's functional and non-functional requirements
  • Supporting and overseeing supplier testing activities, undertaking User Acceptance Testing, and providing quality assurance throughout the delivery lifecycle
  • Reviewing supplier test plans, test coverage, execution progress, and evidence
  • Identifying, managing, and reporting quality risks, issues, and defects
  • Working collaboratively with suppliers and stakeholders to support the successful delivery of change
