The Role - Test Development Engineer

We have a fantastic opportunity for a rounded Test Development Engineer to join a thriving engineering and manufacturing business in Gloucestershire.

As a Test Equipment Engineer, you'll support a number of areas including Test Equipment Design, Development, build, commissioning, and maintenance.

Being a medium-sized business, this role would suit someone who wants wide role coverage and an opportunity to develop across these areas, combining hands-on support with technical engineering capability.

Duties - Test Development Engineer

  • Designing, developing, and supporting automated test systems internally.
  • Developing equipment for both product introductions (NPI) and ongoing production.
  • Maintaining and enhancing existing test.
  • Investigating and resolving test-related issues affecting manufacturing.
  • Collaborating with wider engineering teams to ensure effective test coverage.
  • Analysing test data to identify opportunities for system improvements.
  • Developing technical documentation, work instructions, and support materials.

Background - Test Development Engineer

  • Experience in design and build of electronic test equipment.
  • Hardware development and integration focused on measurement capability.
  • Embedded C, Python experience desirable.
  • LabVIEW application development exposure.
  • Experience realising test system design concepts with CAD (SolidWorks or similar).
  • A good understanding of electronic test methods and fault finding.
