Type: 12-Month Fixed-Term Contract

Working Pattern: Full Time, Hybrid (3 days a week onsite)

The Opportunity🚀

We are currently part way through an exciting business transformation where we are evolving our engineering model from traditional Waterfall to a modern, agile Product Operating Model. We are looking for a Test Engineer to take ownership of quality engineering within our Engage Squad. The Role Scope

As the dedicated Test Engineer embedded within the Engage Squad, you will be responsible for planning, defining, and executing strategies that ensure top-tier quality across our applications and services. You will champion modern testing standards and ensure quality is integrated throughout the entire software development lifecycle.

Role key responsibilities:

✨ Quality & Testing Strategy

  • Define and execute comprehensive testing strategies, including mock APIs (MSW), API contract testing, and load/performance testing strategies.
  • Establish strategies for advanced testing disciplines, such as visual regression and security testing.
  • Manage and provision realistic test data within database environments to support robust test suites.

✨ Automation & Environment Management

  • Select, configure, and champion core test automation tools and frameworks across the squad.
  • Automate the setup and tear-down of complex test environments, including basic GCP provisioning.
  • Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code following web and accessibility standards.

✨ Product & Squad Collaboration

  • Drive a customer-centric mindset, promoting early value delivery and a "test and learn" engineering culture.
  • Work closely with Tech Leads, Engineers, and Product Owners to identify, locate, and resolve service faults.
  • Coach and mentor team members on effective testing best practices and modern development standards.

About you

✨What we’re looking for

  • Product Operating Model Experience: Understanding or hands-on experience working in a modern product operating model or engineering environment ("test and learn" culture).
  • Testing Frameworks & Automation: Experience with modern test automation tools (Playwright experience is highly desirable).
  • CI/CD Integration: Practical experience working within modern software development lifecycles, including CI/CD pipelines.
  • Technical Problem Solving: Proven ability to write clean code, perform API contract testing, and resolve complex service faults.
  • Collaborative Communicator: Ability to explain technical testing concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
