Our Leeds facility is a recognised Centre of Excellence within Sulzer's global network and home to some of the largest and most sophisticated pump packages manufactured anywhere in the world. Every product that leaves our facility plays a critical role in major infrastructure projects across the energy, water, industrial and renewable sectors.
Due to an internal promotion, we're looking for a talented Test Engineer to join our high-performing team and play a key role in ensuring our world-class products perform flawlessly before they reach customers around the globe.
As a Test Engineer, you'll take ownership of complex testing programmes from initial preparation through to completion, working on large-scale rotating equipment and pump packages that are destined for some of the world's most demanding applications. You'll lead testing activities, analyse performance data, solve technical challenges and work closely with Engineering, Projects and Production teams to ensure exceptional quality and performance. You'll be trusted to identify issues, carry out root cause investigations and help drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance safety, reliability and operational excellence.

What You'll Be Doing
- Managing and supervising allocated test activities through to successful completion.
- Leading and coordinating test teams to deliver projects safely, on time and to specification.
- Evaluating test results and communicating findings to Engineering, Projects and Production teams.
- Investigating technical issues, carrying out fault diagnosis and supporting root cause analysis.
- Supporting the design and development of test rigs and testing processes.
- Monitoring equipment reliability and performance to maximise operational effectiveness.
- Participating in project and assembly review meetings, providing technical expertise and guidance.
About You
You'll be a practical and analytical engineer who enjoys solving complex problems and working in a hands-on environment.
We're Looking For Someone Who Has
- An HNC in Mechanical, Electrical or Plant Engineering (or equivalent).
- Experience within a manufacturing, engineering, testing or rotating equipment environment.
- Previous experience carrying out or supervising equipment testing.
- Strong communication and leadership skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
- The ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across multiple departments.
- A continuous improvement mindset and a passion for engineering excellence.
