Technical Test Engineer

We are supporting a financial services organisation undertaking a significant technology modernisation programme across its critical infrastructure and application landscape.

As part of this transformation, the organisation is seeking an experienced Technical Test Engineer to support infrastructure and platform projects spanning both legacy technology and modern containerised, microservices-based environments.

This is a hands-on role combining technical testing, test automation, and environment readiness. You will work closely with engineering, infrastructure, and delivery teams to ensure complex technology changes are appropriately tested, and environments are ready to support successful delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define technical testing requirements for infrastructure and platform projects and contribute to test strategies
  • Perform hands-on manual and automated testing across complex technology environments
  • Support the preparation, build, and refresh of test environments
  • Assess the impact of infrastructure changes, including security patches and platform updates
  • Ensure test environments are correctly configured and ready for planned testing activities
  • Contribute to environment infrastructure setup and supporting technical documentation
  • Identify and escalate testing, environment, and delivery risks and issues
  • Work closely with engineering, infrastructure, application, and business teams to resolve technical and environment-related issues
  • Provide clear reporting on testing progress, issues, and overall readiness

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
