I’m looking for an experienced and driven Test Engineer to join my client’s growing Data & Analytics practice. This is an exciting opportunity to work on enterprise-scale data transformation and analytics programmes, ensuring the quality and integrity of modern cloud-based data platforms.

As a Test Engineer, you will work closely with clients, business stakeholders, developers, data engineers, and solution architects to deliver robust testing solutions across data warehousing, business intelligence, reporting, and cloud analytics environments.

It's hybrid working (3 days from home) and you need to live within commuting distance from one of their offices in Edinburgh, London, Manchester, Birmingham, or Leeds.

The Role

You will be responsible for designing, executing, and managing test activities across a range of data-focused projects leveraging Microsoft technologies.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Designing and executing test strategies, test plans, test cases, and test scripts.
  • Performing functional, integration, system, regression, user acceptance, and data validation testing.
  • Testing data solutions:
    • Validating ETL/ELT processes, data pipelines, and data transformations.
    • Conducting database and back-end testing using complex SQL queries.
    • Ensuring data quality, completeness, integrity, and reconciliation across multiple systems.
  • Identifying, documenting, tracking, and managing defects through to resolution.
  • Working collaboratively with Agile delivery teams to ensure quality throughout the software development lifecycle.
  • Supporting test automation initiatives where appropriate.
  • Producing clear and concise testing documentation and reports for stakeholders.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
