About The Role
The Test Engineer position in Aylesbury is a permanent role offering a salary between £28,000 and £43,500 per annum. You will define equipment requirements and oversee the design, fabrication, and assembly of test rigs for thrust systems and space engineering.
Duties include:
- Executing Hot Fire Tests with propellant and pressurant feed systems, alongside GSE and EGSE.
- Defining equipment requirements.
- Overseeing the design, fabrication, and assembly of test rigs.
A solid grasp of chemical rocket engineering, mechanical principles, and basic electrical knowledge is essential; prior exposure to spacecraft chemical propulsion is advantageous. Suitable for graduates in Mechanical, Aeronautical, or Aerospace Engineering, or Physics, this hands-on role also welcomes those with practical fitting experience.

Test Engineer required to join an amazing, highly skilled, and welcoming team who generate test equipment and setup requirements, with a view to performing test equipment and test setup design of thrust systems and Space Engineering. Your role will include the specification, fabrication, build, and execution of Hot Fire Tests using propellant and pressurant feed systems, GSE, and EGSE.

You will have an excellent understanding of chemical rocket engineering, mechanical engineering, and some electrical engineering. The ideal candidate will have spacecraft chemical propulsion exposure.
This role would suit someone who has graduated in Mechanical, Aeronautical, or Aerospace Engineering, Physics, or similar with an interest in hands-on practical engineering, mechanical fitter, rocket engines, fluidic control systems, or any space standard experience.
