Job Description:

Microchip develops smaller, smarter and more reliable electronic solutions for its customers.

As a Test Engineer, you will support the design, development and manufacture of electronic products and modules. Working within a multidisciplinary engineering team, you will contribute to test-system development, product verification, software development and data analysis.

This role is suitable for both graduates and engineers with relevant experience. Responsibilities will be matched to your skills and experience, with training and development provided. Applicants at all experience levels are encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement test strategies for product verification.
  • Translate product and customer requirements into test specifications.
  • Design, build and maintain automated test systems, including hardware and software.
  • Develop and support test applications using Visual Basic, Visual C# and National Instruments equipment.
  • Support product verification and validation activities.
  • Analyse test data and communicate results to engineering teams.
  • Investigate technical issues using structured problem-solving methods.
  • Identify and implement improvements to test processes and product performance.
  • Contribute to design reviews, technical discussions and project activities.
  • Travel internationally occasionally, where required.

Requirements/Qualifications:

Essential

  • Bachelors or Masters Degree in Electrical, Electronic or related engineering discipline.
  • An interest in electronics, test engineering and product development.
  • Good analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.
  • A structured and organised approach to work.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Willingness to learn and develop new technical skills.

Desirable

  • Experience with Visual Basic, Visual C# or another programming language.
  • Knowledge of embedded C or microcontroller development.
  • Understanding of UART, SPI or I²C communication protocols.
  • Experience with LabVIEW, TestStand or National Instruments equipment.
  • Knowledge of circuit design or PCB layout tools such as Altium.
  • Experience in electronics manufacturing, product testing or validation.
